Marée Noire: When Art Dances with the Ocean is an interdisciplinary event that brings together art, science, and community engagement to raise awareness about the preciousness of the St. Lawrence River. The event highlights the internationally acclaimed dance film Marée Noire by Chantal Caron, inspired by the environmental and ecological impact of a marine tragedy.

In addition to the film screening, the event will feature a talk by marine biologist Lyne Morissette, a symbolic and participatory walk, a media installation, and a dialogue between artists, scientists, and citizens. It invites the public to experience a unique sensory and intellectual journey, where the poetry of movement meets scientific insight. Together, they foster a collective awareness of the fragility of marine ecosystems and the urgent need for action.
