A poetic dialogue between dance, music, and landscape, Les Scénographies-Paysages – Eaux et forêts offers an artistic promenade through the stunning outdoor site of the Domaine Forget de Charlevoix. Six dancers and four musicians lead the audience in this open-air, site-specific performance that embodies the spirit of the place.

The piece draws inspiration from both the natural and built environments of the Domaine Forget. From the waters of the river it overlooks to the forest that surrounds it—and including a new sculpture in its Jardin harmonique—the site reveals its charms and hidden treasures in a performance created in its image.

Enchantment is the word that comes to choreographer Danièle Desnoyers’s mind when speaking about this project. She invites us to “renew our sense of wonder toward nature, toward the landscape,” to “listen to the beauty of the world,” and to “awaken all our senses” in order to experience a moment where time feels suspended.

After presenting Les Scénographies-Paysages in Sardinia, at the Jardins de Métis, and on Île d’Orléans, the company Le Carré des Lombes will settle into the Festival international du Domaine Forget in June 2025 to root this new work in a singular location. The saxophone quartet Quasar joins them to reflect the site’s musical essence.

An experience to enjoy—rain or shine!
