Come celebrate in rhythm the official launch of Quebec City’s very first street dance festival! This vibrant evening spotlighting local energy will feature performances by Kassandra “BADKASS” Boivin-Cénélia and Léo “B-boy HIT” Coupal, a popping battle showcase, and the captivating mixes of DJ Derrick.

On the menu: an electrifying atmosphere, refreshing cocktails, and an open cypher to get the crowd moving. Don’t miss this one-of-a-kind kickoff. A must-attend event for all lovers of dance and hip hop culture!

Kassandra “Badkass” Boivin-Cénélia
Better known as Badkass, Kassandra Boivin-Cénélia is a dancer and choreographer specializing in urban dance and its many branches. She began dancing at age 3 at Studio Party Time and went on to attend major U.S. dance conventions such as Monsters of Hip Hop and Broadway Dance Center. Kassandra continues to deepen her artistic approach, developing a choreographic signature centered on performance. She also performs nationally in major productions including Star Académie, La semaine des 4 Julie, and Révolution.

Léo “B-boy Hit” Coupal
Léo “B-boy Hit” Coupal is a multidisciplinary artist from Quebec City now based in Montreal. A devoted hip hop culture enthusiast and breakdancer, he also has a passion for spoken word poetry. He performs contemporary dance with various choreographers and is a member of the Stylz Corrupt and Qc Roc crews. His breaking practice spans local and international stages. As a poet, he’s a two-time national slam champion and represented Quebec at the World Poetry Slam Championship in Paris in 2017 and 2023. His first poetry collection, Demi-sous-sol Palace, was published in 2022. In 2023, he received a CALQ grant for a European tour and now focuses on merging his artistic practices into original stage work.

DJ Derrick
Based in Quebec City, DJ Derrick is known for his musical passion and open-mindedness. He co-founded two collectives: SocialClub Quebec (2019) and Hidden Gems (2021). He has performed alongside many local and international artists. With a curious spirit, he draws inspiration from his everyday surroundings. A lover of afrobeat, dancehall, soca, shatta, amapiano, and baile funk, his DJ sets always get people dancing.

Caroline “Lady C” Fraser
A multidisciplinary artist, Lady C is internationally recognized for her style and skills on the battle floor, on stage, and within the global street dance community. Her rare versatility spans popping, locking, hip hop, and house, as well as vernacular jazz forms. She is affiliated with Soul Shifters (USA), Symbiotic Monsters, and Original Rudes. Lady C is also a member of the Holla Jazz Dance Company and a recording artist on Catch The Ghost Records in California.

Layoncé
Born in the San Mateo area of San Francisco, Victoria Côté Péléja (aka Layoncé) was raised primarily in Quebec. Active in the performing arts since childhood, she practiced hip hop for over ten years before completing advanced training in contemporary dance at L’École de danse de Québec (2018–2021). A passionate and dedicated movement artist, she continues her education through ongoing training, particularly in street dance. As a performer, she has an impressive path, having collaborated with renowned companies such as Tentacle Tribe, Fleuve | Espace danse, Alan Lake Factory, Le fils d’Adrien danse, Danse K par K, Le CRue, Flip Fabrique, and Cirque du Soleil.
