Objective

“FLUIDIFY” is an approach that challenges the body, mind, and potentially the soul. In constant transformation, it stems from years of encounters, experimentation, and training in street dances (Krump, House, Bboy, Hip-Hop), traditional and contemporary dances, as well as other movement forms (martial arts, circus, fitness).

Grounded in biomechanics, psychology, and both Western and Eastern philosophies, it offers a systemic vision beyond aesthetics. The idea is to shape and strengthen new creative and expressive pathways in the body, recycle energy, and strive toward a Flow state (Mihaly Csikszentmihalyi) to live in presence and peace.

The objectives of the workshop are:

  • To provide adaptable tools for all levels, body types, and styles to find fluidity in movement and thought.
  • To develop better proprioception, endurance, mobility, and agility.
  • To understand and potentially experience the Flow state.
  • To find playfulness within the rigor and discipline of a practice.
  • To develop improvisation skills.
  • To explore various physical and mental states.
  • To not take dance too seriously.

Content

The entire class is conducted continuously in a follow-along format (participants can stop at any time, slow down, deviate, increase or decrease the difficulty of the exercises). The exercises and principles are explained and broken down throughout the workshop.

  • Breathing / Grounding
  • Light dynamic stretching
  • Isolation of the main spheres (head, torso, pelvis) and secondary spheres (shoulders, elbows, wrists, hips, knees, ankles), connecting them through waves, figure-eights, and spirals throughout the body and its orientations
  • Footwork, rhythms, and polyrhythms
  • Meditation
  • Floorwork: basic patterns and exploration of fluidity on the floor, connection with the weight of the head and pelvis.
  • Relationship with oneself – movement from the center to the extremities, internal flow moving through the body.
  • Relationship with the world – connection with the immediate environment and others.
  • Guided improvisation games, Flow state.
  • Exercises based on the theme of the day (Character, Slowness/Butoh, Floorwork, Choreographic and poetic writing, Duo work (with or without contact))
  • Sharing and discussion circle
