Exhibition | Fernand Nault : une passion, un legs
The exhibition Fernand Nault: une passion, un legs is presented at the Centre culturel Marie- Fitzbach, Ville de Saint-Georges, till August 16 th , 2026.
This unique exhibition pays tribute to choreographer Fernand Nault, a major figure in the world of dance, and to the work of a close collaborator, costume designer François Barbeau.
Created as part of the « Faire danser le patrimoine autrement » program, this exhibition presents original works by Chris Klein (painter), Joanne Migneault (Migno) (sculptor), Jeanne Méthé (model maker), and Claude Wauthier (photographer). Inspired by the costumes created by François Barbeau for Fernand Nault’s landmark ballets, The Nutcracker, Carmina Burana, and Tommy, this collective of artists offers a fresh perspective on the choreographer’ss and costume designer’s creations. Dominique Laurent is responsible for the artistic direction and installation of the exhibition.
Commissioner André Laprise thanks the Conseil des arts et des lettres du Québec for its financial support of the touring project, the Académie de danse de l’Outaouais and the Fonds chorégraphique Fernand Nault for their technical and administrative support, and the team at the Centre culturel Marie-Fitzbach for their warm welcome and exemplary staff.
The exhibition Fernand Nault: une passion, un legs remains available for other venues until
December 2027. The works can be purchased from the Fonds chorégraphique Fernand Nault.
