Clara COMPAIN
Chorégraphe, Enseignant.e, Interprète
Clara Compain is a dancer, choreographer, and pedagogue.
Her work explores the floor as a territory of resistance and surrender — a place where the body unravels to reinvent itself. Between tension and release, she seeks the precision of the vulnerable gesture.
Founder of Compagnie Ailes de Cire, she weaves a space where bodies play with gravity. Between floorwork and the art of vertical suspension, Clara composes with vertigo.
The company offers workshops and creations as shared rituals, open to all bodies and all forms of fragility. Inspired by everyday life, Ailes de Cire gives birth to poetic and unusual forms: dreamlike contortions, moving tableaux, suspended fragments of humanity.
She develops a sensitive and visceral choreographic writing, nourished by a nervous melancholy and the poetry of the real.
Through teaching contemporary dance, she questions the body and its fragile verticality.
In her creations, flesh becomes language, and every movement — even the smallest tells an act of freedom.
