H24 – 24 Hours in the Life of a Woman is a socially engaged television series, produced and broadcast on ARTE since 2021, offering a sharp and multifaceted look at women’s daily lives through 24 short films of approximately four minutes each, written by a different female author and performed by a different actress. Inspired by real events, the series highlights the mechanisms of everyday violence and underscores the importance of both individual and collective forms of resistance.
The series’ universe is also available in a book published by Actes Sud – ARTE Éditions, compiling the original texts of all 24 stories. This collection, a feminist manifesto in its own right, extends the audiovisual experience by providing readers with another perspective on these stories, often absent from traditional media.
These stories inspired Black Lights, a choreographic work by Mathilde Monnier, who will present her creative process via videoconference before the full screening of the series. The session will conclude with a discussion led by Claudia Larochelle, highlighting the connections between literature, audiovisual media, and stage creation in this project that is as political as it is artistic.
