Tenir parole is a hybrid stage work blending dance and spoken word, brought to life through the close collaboration between multidisciplinary artist and photographer Angelo Barsetti and dancer-choreographer Louise Bédard.

Born from an artistic relationship spanning over three decades, this project celebrates the poetry of movement and words. Alone on stage, Louise moves through a minimalist space, inhabited by a mosaic of texts written by five authors—Denise Desautels, Véronique Côté, Rachel Graton, Louise Bombardier, and Evelyne de la Chenelière—drawn from her universe. Each text becomes a letter, a fragment of memory that nourishes her dance and transforms the space. Angelo’s voice guides and interacts with her moving body, creating a sensitive duet between words, gestures, and punctuation.

A true moving portrait where the intimate meets the universal, Tenir parole also pays tribute to a remarkable artist celebrating this year the 35th anniversary of her company, Louise Bédard Danse.

Created by Angelo Barsetti and Louise Bédard, in co-production with the 2025 International Literature Festival (FIL) and co-presented with the Agora de la danse.
