The Montreal-based collective Mouvement Vertical is offering a vertical dance workshop in Sainte-Émélie-de-l’Énergie on September 19 and 20, 2025.

Vertical dance is a hybrid discipline combining dance and circus, performed using a rope and harness system.

The collective will offer two 4-hour workshop sessions focused on wall exercises. During these sessions, the collective will be assisted by the Club de Montage et d’Escalade de Lanaudière.

Open to beginner and intermediate levels, participants will learn the technical fundamentals of rope work. The techniques taught on Friday will serve as preparation for the artistic workshop on Saturday.

  • $200 for one session
  • $350 for both sessions
  • Open to all levels, though regular physical practice is recommended

About Us:

Mouvement Vertical is an aerial dance collective made up of Natacha Viau, Mathilde Heuzé, and Claire Jeannot. Since 2022, the collective has produced several short choreographic works (Variation Verticale, Enracinement, and Boréalis), completed intensive training in France (Volt Expérience), and conducted a learning mission and creation residency in Kamouraska (Centre Rebond and Cirque de la Pointe-Sèche). Since 2024, the collective has been training at the Académie de Cirque de Montréal and offers workshops, including collaborations with En Piste and RQD.
