Silvia Sanchez
Interprète
Silvia Sanchez, of Sardinian and Spanish origin, discovered dance as a student at the Geneva Conservatory in Switzerland, where she initially trained in ballet. In 2015, she continued her path by beginning her professional training at the École de danse contemporaine de Montréal. During these formative years, her encounters with a variety of artists profoundly transformed her understanding of dance.
After graduating, Silvia worked as a freelance performer with several choreographers, including Victor Quijada, Martin Messier, Andrea Peña, and Thierry Huard. She is also involved in the projects of emerging choreographer Pénélope Gromko. More recently, Silvia has been collaborating closely with choreographer Louise-Michelle Jackson, as well as with the companies Grand Poney, led by Jacques Poulin-Denis, and Skeels Danse, directed by Andrew Skeels.
She works as a performer, artistic advisor, and facilitator of cultural mediation workshops. Currently, Silvia is developing a strong interest in an acrobatic approach to dance, drawing inspiration from athletic and circus disciplines. While staying true to contemporary dance, she seeks to enrich it through this acrobatic lens.
