Sophie Levasseur

Sophie Levasseur holds a Master's degree in dance from UQAM and wears many hats: dance artist, teacher, cultural mediator, research officer and, more recently, the person responsible for socio-cultural animation at Collège André-Grasset. What connects these various practices is her interest in the co-construction of artworks and her curiosity about the multifaceted nature of encounters. The most recent artistic projects in which she is involved are Mamie Remix, co-conceived with Ilya Krouglikov and produced in collaboration with the company Berceurs du temps, as well as Rock Bière : le documentaire de la compagnie Pleurer dans' douche which was presented at Espace Libre in November 2021.
Since 2022, she has been more active behind the scenes, co-developing and/or facilitating mediation workshops, acting as a movement consultant, and articulating her practice and research interests with artists from a variety of backgrounds.
