Alya Graham

Alya Graham is a Yukon-born freelance contemporary dance artist based in Ottawa. Since her graduation from The School of Dance in 2014, she has worked with choreographers Caroline Barrière, Marissa Wong, Amelia Griffin, Meagan O’Shea (Stand Up Dance), Cathy Kyle-Fenton, Allison Burns, Geneviève Duong, Ludmylla Reis, Charles Cardin-Bourbeau, Jocelyn Todd, and Sylvie Desrosiers (Dorsale Danse). She is currently a company member at Ottawa Dance Directives under the direction of Yvonne Coutts, as well as a founding member of Collective Unrest.

Alya began exploring choreography in 2015 alongside Annabel Boissonneault ('De notre petit squelette', 2015) before pursuing a solo choreographic practice. Her choreographic repertoire now includes several student pieces as well as two professional visual art and dance collaborations: Statufié (2018), and Dénudement (2019).
