Les Malchaussées

The body as rhythmic territory.

Founded in 2014 in Québec City, Les Malchaussées is a percussive dance company exploring the intersection of rhythm, movement, and stage presence. By blending body percussion, gumboot, contemporary dance, theatre, and music, the company develops a vibrant and distinctive artistic language.

Les Malchaussées creates performances and interactive workshops that place audiences at the heart of the experience. Each creation transforms the body into an instrument, a sonic space, and a vehicle for shared emotion. Their approach is rooted in the democratization of percussive dance—making this art form accessible, inclusive, and unifying, whether in theatres, public spaces, or schools.

Active nationally and internationally — notably at the International Body Music Festival — Les Malchaussées contribute to the global dialogue of rhythmic arts and intercultural exchange.

Through every project, they strive to make rhythm a catalyst for connection, creativity, and social cohesion.
