Lauren Buchardt is a trained classical ballet dancer, looking to expand her repetoire and versatility. She trained at Canada’s National Ballet School in Toronto from the age of twelve to eighteen, then was accepted to the Dutch National Ballet Academy in Amsterdam, where she received a B.A. in Dance. From there she joined the Dutch National Ballet as a stagiare and then apprentice, performing corps de ballet roles in ballets such as Swan Lake, The Nutcracker, The Sleeping Beauty, Giselle, Balanchine’s Serenade and Symphony in C among others. Since moving to Montreal last year she has worked with Ballet Ouest de Montreal and Compagnie Kunal Ranchod and performed with L'Ecole Superior de Ballet du Quebec, Manina Productions, and Agence Kik. This year she is going to Ireland to perform Swan Lake with a company there. She teaches pilates and dance on the side, and studies Psychology and neuroscience at McGill University. She frequents Danse a la Carte and dabbles in painting, photography and poetry.
