From the age of twelve, Gina Grant quickly became fascinated by dance from her first experience at a musical theatre summer camp. Originally from Rothesay, New Brunswick, she spent her free time studying varying styles of dance and performing in competitions around the Maritimes and North Eastern United States. After graduating from high school, Gina was accepted into l’École de danse contemporaine de Montréal’s Mise a Niveau program in 2012, followed by the professional training program, of which she graduated in June 2017. Through her schooling, Gina has worked with choreographers such as Lucie Grégoire, Marc Boivin, Jamie Wright, Darryl Tracy, Parts+Labour_Danse and German Jauregui, to name a few. Outside of school, Gina has had the pleasure of performing for the company Castel Blast, a collective that highlights dance, theatre, music and video for OFFta’s Decalogue (2016), l’Espace Libre’s 2016-2017 theatrical season and Danse Cité’s charity event Souk cité. This past summer, Gina performed with compagnie Ilotopie, a France based street performance company where she participated in their piece Ville en Couleur. Her most recent projects incude Swish, choreographed by Chloe Hart and Stefania Skoryna and performed at the Chalet du Mont Royale, as well as Conséquences, choreographed by Chloe Hart as part of the séminaire "Composer pour la danse" presented by the faculty of music of l'Université de Montréal.
