ERIN O’LOUGHLIN trained at the Alvin Ailey School, the San Francisco Conservatory of Dance, and at Crossings Dance in Calgary. O’Loughlin holds a BA in Dance and International Relations from the University of Calgary. In Alberta, she danced for Davida Monk, Maya Lewandowsky, Helen Husak, Deanne Walsh and Veronica Benz as well as with Corps Bara Dance Theatre. She was supported by the Alberta Foundation for the Arts to attend several workshops abroad including ImPulsTanz(AT), the Gaga Intensive with the Batsheva Company (IL, USA) and Transformation Danse (CAN). In 2016, she spent several months in Mumbai, India working for Bollywood choreographer, Shiamak Davar. Based in Montreal, O’Loughlin works with Andrea Peña & Artists, Sylvain Émard Danse, and Sinha Danse. In 2018, she was selected to participate in the Creative Gesture Dance Residency at the Banff Centre for Arts and Creativity, collaborating and performing in a new work by Alan Lucien Øyen entitled The Hamlet Complex. She is a founding member of LA TRESSE Collective whose piece Volume II won the “Prix Coup de Coeur du Public” at Festival Quartiers Danses. They have been featured as cover artists on the Dance Current Magazine and were Emerging Choreographer (2017) and Resident Choreographer (2019) for Springboard Danse Montreal. In 2020-2021, they were the recipients of the Gibney Company/ Springboard Emerge Award*. LA TRESSE created a new work for the students of l’École de Danse Contemporain de Montréal in the spring of 2019 and their evening-length work, L’Encre Noire was premiered at Agora de la Danse in November of 2019.
