Originally from Calgary, AB Erin O'Loughlin is a contemporary dance artist based in Montréal, QC. Following her training at Alvin Ailey in New York City, Erin went on to attend the summer program at San Francisco Conservatory of Dance where she learned and performed in works by Jiri Kylian and Robert Moses. In 2010 she graduated from the University of Calgary with a BA in International Relations and a Minor in Dance. Following University, she danced professionally with Davida Monk’s company M-Body and continued to perform in Alberta with companies La Caravan Dance Theatre, Corps Bara Dance Theatre, and independent choreographers Helen Husak and Deanne Walsh. With support from the Alberta Foundation for the Arts, Ms. O’Loughlin attended the ImPulsTanz International Dance Festival in Vienna in 2010, the Gaga Summer Intensive with the Batsheva Dance Company in New York in 2011, and choreographic workshops in Montréal with Ginette Laurin, Mélanie Demers and Anne Plamondon in 2013. She went on to attend the Gaga Intensive’s in Tel Aviv in 2012 and New York in 2016, and continues to be engaged in and influenced by the Gaga movement language. In Montréal she dances in various projects with companies such as Bouge de Là, Sinha Danse and Ample.Man Danse, and also teaches at McGill University. Furthermore, Erin is an emerging choreographer who has created work in the 29th and 31st Alberta Dance Festivals, and is a founding member of Montréal-based dance collective, LA TRESSE. She has been fortunate to receive support from the Canada Council for the Arts for several choreographic research processes.
Suite à sa formation à Alvin Ailey à New York, elle poursuit son perfectionnement au San Francisco Conservatory of Dance. En 2010, elle a obtenu un BAC de l’Université de Calgary en Danse et Relations Internationales. En Alberta, elle a dansé pour les compagnies M-Body (Davida Monk), La Caravan Dance Theatre et les chorégraphes indépendants Helen Husak, Deanne Walsh et Veronica Benz. Grâce au soutient de l’Alberta Foundation for the Arts, elle a participé à de nombreux stages tels que ImPulsTanz, Transformation Danse et le Gaga Intensive avec la compagnie Batsheva en Israël. À Montréal elle collabore avec les compagnies Sinha Danse et Bouge de Là. Elle a aussi été soutenue par le CAC dans plusieurs projets de recherches chorégraphiques.
