Maia Thomlinson is a multidisciplinary artist who finds the medium to suit the story she is working to tell. Based in Montreal, she is a poet and acrobatic storyteller; her work is inspired by the beauty and intricacies of life, her relationships, and her love of the natural world.
During fourteen years of preparatory training in artistic gymnastics, dance, and the circus arts, Maia had the opportunity to perform both locally and internationally, in Europe. She then moved to pursue a career in movement, training for one year at the National Circus School before setting off on her own to further explore her body’s language.
Maia has co-written and performed in three full-length circus productions with Winnipeg’s Momentum Aerial & Acrobatic Troupe. Her most recent work was “blink,” a show that connected people to the threat of climate change and the importance of home.
