About Théâtre Incliné
Théâtre Incliné is an interdisciplinary theatre company rooted in the contemporary visual theatre and puppetry movement. Active in Quebec, Europe, and Asia, it develops bold, unifying artistic projects and contributes actively to Laval’s cultural vitality, notably through its involvement with ROCAL. The company is preparing to move into the Centre de Création Lysanne-Gendron in the fall of 2027.
Its upcoming projects include the creation of the Dialogues on Origins cycle (a youth performance, installation, mediation, and international co-production with Finland).

Position Available
Title: General Director
Type: Permanent, full-time (30 hours per week)
Salary: Based on experience ($28–$30/hour)
Workplace: Laval and remote work
Start date: As soon as possible

Candidate Profile

Significant experience in cultural management, ideally in theatre or the performing arts

Strong administrative, financial, and human resource management skills

Excellent ability to develop partnerships and represent the organization

Motivational leadership, rigor, and strong organizational skills

Keen interest in innovative artistic practices and eco-responsible values
-
Fluency in French and good command of English (spoken and written)
Required Qualities

Clarity and persuasion: the ability to present projects convincingly and tailor communication to different audiences (artists, presenters, sponsors, institutions, etc.)

Strategic imagination: ability to invent original partnership or touring models (alliances, joint residencies, co-productions)

Main Responsibilities
Under the supervision of the Board of Directors and in collaboration with the Artistic Direction, the General Director ensures the sound management of the company and the implementation of its strategic plan.
Administration and Management

Oversee all administrative, financial, and human operations of the company

Coordinate and support the work of an external administrative firm and an independent accountant
-
Prepare and monitor annual budgets, financial reports, and accountability documents
-
Ensure compliance with the requirements of funders and public partners
Development and Partnerships
-
Actively participate in fundraising, partnership, and sponsorship development
-
Support the dissemination and outreach strategy for the company’s works in Quebec and abroad
-
Represent the company before institutions, partners, and cultural networks
Human Resources and Governance
-
Supervise employees and collaborators in a respectful, creative, and caring environment
-
Support the Board of Directors in governance and planning functions
-
Foster a collaborative, inclusive, and inspiring work atmosphere
Requirements
-
University degree in a relevant field or equivalent experience
-
Minimum two years’ experience in a leadership or coordination role in the cultural sector
-
Excellent writing and communication skills
-
Strong command of MAC environments, Microsoft Office, and Google Workspace
