Jacob Cino

Biographie

Jacob Cino Dancer, Composer, and DJIs an ex  Vancouverite that  thanks to winning a Canada Council grant is currently based in Montreal to dance with Nyata Nyata .  Jacob  is  trained primarily in Contact improvisation.  He has studied  with Peter Bingham and Edam Dance (http://www.edamdance.org/) since 1999. He has performed for Peter's company in the remount of his piece Born Naked, Died Blond(2005) and  The body Electric (May 2008). Jacob's long creative relationship with Martha Carter began in 2004.  In Martha Carter's IDUB (Interactive Digital Urban Ballet)  his skills as a Beat Boxer, DJ, Producer, Rapper and Dancer where all showcased in this interdisciplinary multi dancestyle piece (2004 Vancouver,2006 Calgary, St. John, NF).He also performed as a dancer in Martha Carters (http://www.houseofpride.com/) The Spell Remains (2006), RI'ZILYENT (2007) which are explorations of club music with modern dance influence . More recently Martha Carter's MMhop production Krazy (June 2008) and Hop, Skip and Jump (August 2008) .  Besides Contact dance and modern he has also studies African dance largely of West Coast origins.  He has performed with the Cote D'ivoire dancer Kesseke Yeo's Company West meets West in the production Kiss of Africa  (August 2008)Jacob Cino is also a DJ and composer.  He has composed musik for modern dance  performances, film and television and for clubs and festivals. Since 2001 he has worked with Jennifer Mascal( http://www.mascalldance.ca/nijinsky.htm) .  Daeilik's 2003 piece Body Building ( http://www.machinenoisy.com/about.htm).   Peter Bingham 2004 remount of Slip. 2005-2007  .
